The Abilis CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) System module (CTISYS) works at the network (level 3) and transport-level (level 4) of the ISO-OSI model.
The CTISYS is a smart switch able to exchange both circuit-switched telephony channels (TDM) and packet-switched (VoIP, VoN) channels with all the reasonable degrees of freedom:
Packet channels to TDM ones;
TDM to packet;
TDM to TDM;
Packet to packet.
The table below shows the different types of connection supported by the CTI System:
Table 49.1. CTI connection side types
Type | Description |
---|---|
DATA | Data: data connection (HDLC framing) from Abilis CPX to ISDN port or from ISDN port to Abilis CPX. |
V | Voice: digital voice stream. |
C | Cluster: compressed voice stream in form of data packets. |
I | IAX: connection to a device that supports IAX protocol. |
S | SIP: connection to a device that supports SIP protocol. |
D | DISA: connection to the Direct Inward System Access. |
A | Advanced Services: CtiVm, CtiVr, CtiMix, CtiVo |
All the possible combinations of connections are possible; for more details refer to CTIR section; IAX, SIP and DISA routings are explained in the corresponding chapters.
The bandwidth depends on the used coder: G.711, G.726, G.727, GSM6.10, Spirit, G.723.1, G.729A, Transp
For compressed phone calls directly sent onto the Frame Relay network, a Spirit coder with net compression at 6400 bps and gross space memory of 8800 bps are usually used.
On an IP network the bandwidth is 22 kbps for the first call, the following simultaneous calls (from the same source to the same destination) add a bandwidth of only 8,8 kbps for each single call.
To operate the CTI system module you must configure the necessary elements of the system:
CTI Ports, to connect to Abilis the necessary ports (ISDN, Analog, GSM, UMTS, LTE, etc.).
CTI Group, for use more ports or resources together.
CTI Clusters (connections to proprietary package), to manage the flow of compressed voice into data packets.
CTI Router, to make the interconnection of all resources of the CTI System. CTI Router is the main module of CTI System.
Note | |
---|---|
The CTI system without configuration of CTI router doesn't work. |
Virtual Office, if you want to use a cell phone instead of a landline phone with all the features that make it substantially indistinguishable from the current position.
DISA, if you need an advanced autoresponder.
SIP, for interconnect the Abilis with the SIP protocol (SIP trunk, SIPphone, etc.).
IAX, for interconnect the Abilis with the IAX protocol (IAX trunk, IAXphone, etc.).
Voice Mail, to record voice messages and receive them via email.
MIX (conference), to make a conference between more users.
Note | |
---|---|
To make the CTISYS system working it isn't necessary to configure all resources of the system, but only those you need. |
Note | |
---|---|
For some resources is needed to have a licence (Use the command display licence permissions to see if you have an active license for the necessary resource). |
