3.13. RIO connection
	Chapter 3. Physical connections

In this section it's shown how to connect a RIO to the Abilis CPX.

Follow the steps below to connect a RIO:

Power on Abilis;
Connect the RIO Ethernet port to Abilis Ethernet port using the Ethernet cable;
Connect the power supply to RIO;
There are two ways of connecting a power supply cable:
- From Power OUT port of Abilis.
- From External Power Supply.
Add/configure the RIO device.

In this section it's shown how to connect a RIO Inputs/Outputs.

The following figure explains how to connect an external relay to Digital Output of RIO.

By enabling the digital output D-OUT-8 (ON), a contact is closed that short-circuits the respective 8-A and 8-B pins.
