When a person receives a call which comes from UMTSBOX, the calling number is that of the SIM inserted, and there is nothing we can do to change the situation. If the called person does not answer, he will later see a call coming from that number, he can try to call it back, but when the call enters the UMTSBOX it is routed to some "default" recipient, e.g. The operator, but the operator does not know what person in the company made the call. This can also be seen when as a gateway for calls is using a CTI cluster or a trunk: SIP or IAX. In order not to meet such situations, it was developed the LCS - Last Calling number Service.
Important | |
---|---|
Last Calling number Service requires a separate licence. |
Suppose to have this situation:
CTIP 101 (for example number 200) makes a call to a cell phone (number 320123456);
The call is routed through the UMTS BOX using port #501 (which corresponds to a SIM whose number is 320654321);
The LCS saves calling and called numbers in the LCS table;
A call is received by UMTS BOX: the called number is 320654321, the calling number is 320123456;
The basic principle of LCS:
When we make an outgoing call the LCS saves the CALLED number and the CALLING number.
When later we will receive an incoming call from the same port where the CALLING is the previously CALLED number, we put in the CALLED number the previously CALLING number.
Requirements for LCS configuration:
Add the LCSG - Last Calling number Service Group;
Configure the LCS and LCST (Last Calling number Service records Timeout) parameters of CTIR routing;
Note | |
---|---|
The value |
Configure the reference to a Last Calling number Service Group for:
CTI ports (except POTS and VPOTS): the LCS-GROUP parameter;
CTI clusters: the LCS-GROUP parameter;
SIP users: the SIP-LCS-GROUP parameter;
IAX users: the IAX-LCS-GROUP parameter.
The CALLED and CALLING numbers are stored in the LCST - Last Calling number Service Table.
The operating principle of LCS:
When we make an outgoing call the CTI Router verifies the LCS parameter:
If the LCS parameter is disabled the LCS is ignored.
If the LCS parameter is enabled, then the CTI router verifies if for Destination resource (OUT parameter) is configured the LCSG (Last Calling number Service Group) parameter. The checked parameter is dependent on the type of resource:
LCS-GROUP parameter for CTI ports (except POTS and VPOTS);
LCS-GROUP parameter for CTI clusters;
SIP-LCS-GROUP parameter for SIP users;
IAX-LCS-GROUP parameter for IAX users.
The LCS verify on the specified LCSG if there aren't any restrictions
for the CALLED number (the CB-PERMIT-CD
parameter)
and save the CALLED number and the CALLING number in the LCST - Last Calling number Service
Table.
The numbers are stored in the LCS
table for a specified time (The TOUT
parameter). This time can be specified in the LCST (Last Calling number Service records
Timeout) parameters of CTIR
routing.
Note | |
---|---|
The value |
When later we will receive an incoming call from the same port, where is configured the LCSG, the LCS verify if the CALLING number is present on the LCS table and put in the CALLED number the previously CALLING number.
The CTI router forward the call to the new CALLED number.

LCSG is useful to manage LCS groups. The managing is made following the classic Abilis sintax: a/c/s/d lcsg <parameter:parameter>.
LCSG configuration holds all the rules required to manipulate the TON for CD and CG.

To activate the changes made on the LCSG, execute the initialization command init ctisys. Remember to save the configuration (save conf). |
Important | |
---|---|
Remember to set the LCS parameter to YES in the CTI routing (the one which routes calls to UMTSBOX). |
