Interesting chapter: Section 78.6.5, “How can I view the type of WATCHDOG?”.

2.8.1. Watchdog Processor

The Watchdog is an independent microprocessor which is connected to the Abilis motherboard by IDE interface. It verifies the constant presence of the so called “LIVE signal” generated by Abilis during its main operating cycle.

  • When the cycle is regular, the LIVE signal is reset every second and the Watchdog sends every second a flashing signal on the green LED (on the right end).

  • If the cycle isn't regular, the Watchdog issues a cold-reset of the motherboard, hence restarting the Abilis. The event text I: WDL1 or I: WDL2 is added in the system log.

During the startup process (“boot”), the Watchdog stands by for one minute to permit loading the operating system and initializing all the software modules.
