Videorecorder — Recordings & Playback

Browsing Recordings

  1. Use the Date picker to choose a date and time range (initial and final). The left panel can be narrowed to a single day, but the underlying control accepts any start-to-end window.
  2. Recordings inside the window appear in the left panel. Alarms (alert) and video clips (video) are listed by timestamp. The list can be filtered to show periodical only (scheduled clips) or periodical and alarms together.
  3. Click a recording to play it in the video panel.

Controls Bar

When playing a recording, the controls bar appears below the video:

ControlWhat It Does
▶ Play forwardPlays the recording forward.
◀ Play backwardPlays the recording in reverse.
⏸ PauseFreezes playback.
Normal speedReturns play speed to 1×.
Record RecordRecords from the live camera feed.
HD toggleSwitches between the standard-definition preview stream and the full-resolution stream.
Snapshot SnapshotCaptures the current frame as a still image (saved to downloads).

Live Mode

When you click LIVE LIVE, the controls change to a live control bar:

Timeline Explorer

Below the controls bar, the timeline is a playback progress bar that marks the moments when recordings exist — the legacy reference manual describes this as a "selection bar for the initial and final date and time". Recorded events show as coloured markers (squares for scheduled/periodical clips, dots for alarms); click a marker to jump to that point. Hovering the bar shows the date and time of the picture currently under the cursor. The From and To time fields constrain the visible window.

Camera Setup

At the bottom of the Recordings panel, click Setup cameras to open the camera configuration page. Cameras are not added by manually entering stream URLs — the Abilis discovers them automatically through Automation > Discovery, where they appear as Rvs (Remote Video Surveillance) devices. Once a camera is bound in Discovery, it appears here for configuration (enable/disable, recording parameters, storage allocation, alarm triggers, etc.).

See How-To: Add and configure an IP camera for the full step-by-step walkthrough.

Camera discovery requires the camera to be on the same network as the Abilis. If the camera does not appear in the Discovery table, check that it has a valid IP address on the Abilis LAN, that it is powered on, and that no firewall rule is blocking discovery traffic. Try refreshing the Discovery page after a few seconds.
