Videorecorder

This section lets you watch live camera feeds, play back recorded footage, configure periodic and alarm-triggered recording, and manage storage. All video is recorded and stored locally on the Abilis — no cloud service, no subscription, no data leaving your premises.

Click Videorecorder in the sidebar.

Cameras don't connect to the Videorecorder directly. They come in as RVS (Remote Video Surveillance) devices — bind them once under Automation > Discovery and they appear here for viewing, recording, and configuration. See How-To: Add and configure an IP camera.

Page Layout

The Video panel is built in five parts, from top to bottom:

Recordings panel (left)Shows all recorded videos and alarms for the selected day. Click a timestamp to play the recording.
Alarm entries have a alert icon. Hover for details about the alarm source.
Video entries have a video icon.
At the bottom: Setup cameras button for camera configuration.
Date picker (top of video area)Select which day to view recordings for. When a day is selected, recordings appear in the left panel.
Camera feed imagesThe main viewing area. Click ⤢ to maximise (covers date picker and camera list). Click ⤡ to restore. Scroll mouse wheel to zoom in/out.
Controls bar + timeline explorer"Squares" / "dots" indicators appear when recordings exist — click them to toggle a detailed view of recorded events. See Recordings & Playback for all controls.
Camera list (bottom)All available cameras. Selected camera has a blue border. Click another to switch.

If no cameras are configured: "Cameras are not configured. Please check 'Setup cameras' section."

The Videorecorder needs a dedicated storage volume — an internal hard disk or a USB 2.0+ pen drive — configured at install time. If the storage isn't present or has no free space, the Abilis enters LIVE-ONLY mode: live camera feeds still display, but nothing is recorded and playback is empty. If your timeline is mysteriously blank, check storage before checking the cameras.
