Automation

This section lets you monitor sensors (temperature, motion, door contacts) and control outputs (relays, lights, locks) connected to the Abilis via WIO, RIO, or RVS modules. You can build visual dashboards, create automated rules (e.g. "if temperature exceeds 30°C, turn on the fan"), and write custom programs for advanced logic.

The automation runs locally on the Abilis — it does not depend on the internet or cellular network to operate. Sensors keep being read, rules keep firing, even if the WAN link is down. No data leaves the unit unless you explicitly configure outbound notifications, and the automation system can interact directly with the router and telephone switchboard built into the same Abilis.

The Abilis connects to physical devices in your building through several module families (per the v9.0 reference manual ch21):

Control PanelVisual dashboards — place device buttons, sensor readouts, images, and live camera feeds on a canvas. Details →
Control LoopsCreate automated routines without coding, using spreadsheet-like formulas. Details →
ProgramsView, edit, start, stop Lua automation scripts. Programs can be hand-written or generated from Control Loops. Details →
MonitoringReal-time device readings, automation event logs. Create custom monitoring presets with timing intervals. Details →
DiscoveryFind and bind new automation devices (RIO, RVS, WIO, Sonoff) on the network. Details →
ConfigurationManage devices that are known to the Abilis but currently offline (powered down, out of wireless range, cable unplugged). Details →
Discovery, Configuration, and Monitoring are three views of the same underlying device list — they all live on the Monitoring & Discovery page. Discovery shows newly-detected devices, Configuration shows devices known but currently offline, Monitoring shows live readings.
